Carrie: The Musical

I’m very glad that I found the Illini Student Musicals because they started the positive encouraging environment that I wanted to continue throughout all of my productions. ISM focuses on the integration of cast, pit, and staff and having them mix in both social and production aspects, which I really appreciated as a new freshman coming into university. Currently, I try to continue this tradition by meeting everyone within all parts of the production even if I do not work directly with them to put on the show.

This being my first production at the University of Illinois, I was quite intimidated between the skill difference between high school and college. For this production, I rehearsal accompanied and played Keys 1. I was able to shadow the music director give personal vocal lessons and started to understand how a production runs with a much shorter rehearsal time than any high school production.
